Right before the high-anticipated Despicable Me 4 hit theaters, we launched a world-wide Happy Meal campaign recruiting families to help us “Save the Smiles.” That means when kids got their go-to meal at McDonald’s, they joined minions - big, tall, MEGA, and small - to get smiles back to where they belong.
Historically, families have had their fair share of minion Happy Meals. So when we got the brief, we knew we had to go bigger, better, and bolder. We ignited a one of a kind mission. Fun and mischief overload.
After the word got out, families flooded McDonald's for the Happy Meal. They got a special box showcasing the mission, a minion toy and a mission card which gave them access to save smiles via the digital game.

The game featured all of the minions, an intro video of the smiles being stolen, and the ultimate gameplay where you could catch ‘em in action. And because this mission was no easy task, it featured three levels of difficulty to amp up the handheld fun.
